It’s not that Choso wanted to be an omega or something. He didn’t have any body disphoria, besides being a beta was pretty good in his opinion. But once he met Yuki and their relationship quickly developet into something more, something deeper, he couldn’t help himself, but feel jealousy towards other omegas.
Yuki was a beautiful, strong and confident alpha who deserved the best in her life and while Choso knew that she would never ever leave him for any omega, but still..
Omegas had pheromones to which alphas reacted - he did not.
Omegas and alphas could leave their scent on each other - he could not.
Omegas could bond with alphas for their lifetime - he could not.
An omega could have a child with an alpha - he could not.
Aka. Alpha and Beta cannot have a lifetime bond. Society doesn’t threat mixed couples too well. Choso is getting more and more flustrated with himself and the injustice of the world and ‘something’ in the meantime happens..

“So? What happened on the last mission that has you so…like this?” She motions to Zanka’s general being, and he sighs.
“It’s…” He starts, then pauses, his brow furrowing as he tries to figure out how to word it. His ‘revelation’—while shocking—wasn’t actually all that life-changing, in the grand scheme of things. Or, at least, not in any ways that actually mattered. Still, Zanka found that he couldn’t stop thinking about it. It haunts him, that scent of sea salt and earth, so intense in his memories that it was almost as if he could still smell it if he idled for long enough. “It’s stupid,” he says eventually, shaking his head in a useless attempt to clear the thought from his head.
“It obviously isn’t, seeing as it has you this stressed out. Come on, just tell me what he did already.” She pushes, elbowing him playfully in the ribs. Still, though, he hesitates, shaking his head again.
“No, Riyo, I’m tellin’ you, it ain’t somethin’ ya need ta worry—”
“You found out that Jabber is an omega, didn’t you?”
Zanka finds out that Jabber is an omega, and it doesn't change much at all. It's not as though Jabber smells really nice or anything like that. Definitely not.
