If "being a half-blood" were a profession, it would surely be on web pages with titles like "Why Men Live Shorter." But precisely because he was accustomed to danger, when Percy woke up, lying on the hard wood of a tree root—remembering well having slept in the comfortable bed of Cabin 3—he didn't scream, no matter how much he wanted to. Silently, he cursed every god he could think of in a three-second burst.

Summary
Balancing the tightrope that was mortality and divinity, Percy Jackson could barely just cope with a life that didn’t seem his anymore. Stuck on his promises to his love in Tartarus, Percy keeps that part of him shut. But repression was never a good idea, and an unexpected quest from Triton of all gods culminates in a failed ascension and a deeper understanding of his powers than Percy had ever dared.
Or, Triton, a godly quest and an ascension that Percy unknowingly keeps on refusing, makes the recipe to an almost perfect match for a Greek tragedy. Almost.

Summary
In some ways, Percy likes to think he and his dad have come to an unspoken unmentioned agreement. It makes Percy feel better about the lack of a father figure in his life for so long. Poseidon is bewildered. Or, Percy truly expects nothing from his father, a powerful influential god, much to said god’s distress.
