You jerk your head away and grimace. “I’m hearing voices.”
“No, not voices. A voice. Her voice.” He caresses the console almost sensually and you wonder if you should leave.
“Can you make it go away now?” He looks to you when you say it like you have real, burning, alive stars in your eyes. Like it’s wonderful and there’s nothing he can do. Some part of you thinks he doesn't want to do anything, thinks he wants the voice to stay, thinks he thinks the stars in your eyes are beautiful even though they’re burning.
“It must be a wavelength. But that’s too easy, I was trying to talk to her, I would’ve figured that out. No.” He stops and points at you. “You’re special. There’s something about you. But what? You’re human. How can you hear my Tardis?”
