Summary
All Nick wants is to go home. He hasn't been home in three years, not since an enchanting fog surrounded his hometown that doesn't let anyone in or out without madness or amnesia. But he's going home, even if he has to become a super soldier to do it. The fog has someone he needs to find.
Charlie can't go home. He doesn't remember where home is. He doesn't remember who his parents are. All he has is his name, and he can't even say it because of a sigil over his mouth.
Until a soldier, of all people, says his name, and all of witchcraft breaks loose.

Charlie Spring is at his wits' end. After a decade of keeping his panic attacks at bay, they're suddenly back with a vengeance, threatening to derail the life he's meant to be planning with his fiancé Ben. The only glimmer of hope is his therapist's suggestion that he might have success with a service dog.
Nick Nelson is back at square one. He's six months out of a failed long-term relationship, living at home again, and completely directionless. He loves working at his family's service dog agency, Second Chance, but he needs more than that to keep him afloat.

Nicky: I like it when you wear my jacket. It looks better on you than it does me.
Charlie: I like your jacket on me too.
Charlie: Where are you?
I scanned the yard, but I couldn’t spot Nick by the tree, nor could I see Joe. They might be with Kit in the cafeteria. Before I could worry any further, a voice spoke up from behind me, making me jump.
“I’m most places.”
I turned around so fast that I almost gave myself whiplash.
“Oh, Jesus Christ, you scared me,” I said, pressing a hand to my rapidly beating heart.
“Char? You can just call me Nick. I may be a lot, but calling me Jesus Christ seems a bit much. Perhaps you could call me Father, but that comes with the price of having to call me Daddy after hours,” he said with a smoothness that almost made me lose my balance.
“I'm definitely not going to be calling you 'Daddy' in any lifetime,” I managed to say between giggles.

Charlie and his family move to Castleton where he befriends Nick, Kit, & Joe as well as a huge overly affectionate and playful wolf.
