“Feathered Serpent.” They insist, and share legends and myths, if scarce, tales they’ve heard from the invaders, Tezcatlipoca, the Crypter, and those who accompany them. It looks up to the sky, to the sun, the second sun shining above.
“Oh,” it says, as it now understands, “I wasn’t meant to exist.”
The true world was, after all, the one Tezcatlipoca hailed from.
