Summary
Kit was sitting on the fence facing the lake, sketching, when he saw a familiar lady struggling to throw a big canvas in the water. Rebecca, Catherine's maid. Recognizing the familiar strokes of paint, Kit realizes it was Lili's commissioned painting. As he confronts her, Catherine chases after Rebecca, begging her to stop. Spotting a familiar blond, tension grows amongst the young couple. Catherine Astor confronts her so-called "fiancé," Christopher Church (also known as "Kit"), about his lack of feelings towards her. He was so invested in art. Since they met as young kids, he'd only light up when drawing or painting. But recently, there was something else, no, someone else that had allowed him to become more expressive, more caring. Frusterated, Catherine confronts Kit regarding his feelings about the foreign Japanese girl... Lili. He doesn't deny his love for her.
Lili overhears the conversation and runs away. Though Kit notices and follows her. Catching up, the two have no choice but to talk about their feelings...
