Louis’s nose scrunched. “Hell no. That’s basically saying, ‘Hey, Lestat, here’s the biggest ego boost of the century.’” He leaned forward. “I swore to his face I’d be happier without him, Daniel. I’d be going back to my own vomit.”
“So,” Daniel smirked, “you do admit you need one last bang and the only thing stopping you is your pride.”
Louis paused. Then exasperatedly, “You know that’s not what I meant. And you know it isn’t just a matter of pride.”

Luckily they have each other's backs ... and every other part of each other's anatomy whenever they have the chance!
Although part of a series, can be read without having read the first story.
Note: rated explicit for some sexually explicit scenes in some chapters. This is much more of a plotfest than a smutfest.
