Hal stays at home, worries a lot, and Murray really doesn't do much in the way of easing his mind (she does some, but then...well, it's Murray).

And they couldn't have missed each other, because Hal had stuck around for an hour at the café.And so, if anyone knows a man who knows a man who knows where Bolaire is, it will be Thjazi.

His mornings steadily come earlier. His days stretch longer. He focuses on picking up the slack left behind by those let go during Einfasen’s takeover. He meets Varen at the Falcon’s Rest and his fellow schemers at the Seven Stars.
He sees the way they look at him, as time goes on—and tries his damnedest to ignore their concern, unwarranted and wasted on him.
It takes a week for the strain to start taking its toll.
(Or, Azune pushes himself to the breaking point. Thankfully, he's got people to catch him before he goes too far over the edge. Canon divergence where the schemers have a little more time before the other tables make it back to the city.)
