Jean just blinks at him. There was so much there to pick apart, with Kevin watching him like he had watched anyone in the Nest who mattered in some way or another when the cameras weren't looking. That small and watchful, it had been easy to miscategorize as calculating. Vigilant, Jean saw now. Afraid. His mind kept coming back to *can we just get to that part.* Kevin had been staying with Jean and Jeremy for a week now, had found genuine comfort in Jeremy and an easier sense of co-existence with Jean. Had Kevin been waiting for him to turn on him the whole time?
