A heartfelt 5+1 fic exploring some of the less glamorous years of England's life from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century, and the ordinary humans that shaped him.

This is sort of a contribution to some of the discourse (positive!) that I've seen recently about the role of nation personifications in the hetalia universe and the many multiplicities they contain. It's also an indulgent piece of creative social history of work for my own enjoyment.

Alfred Jones, 23, technically lives the perfect life: crown prince, flourishing kingdom, and all the perks that come with it... save one. Because while many a hopeless romantic is looking for their Prince Charming in the Kingdom of Spades, no one seems to actually want the kingdom part that comes with him.
Neither of these two expects much of a dating app.
