Summary
Milk River, Alberta.
Small town with mostly smaller minds, but it's the kind of place where a person with a troubled past can show up, find some good manual labour, and stop being chased by the shadows of their mistakes. That, at least, is the theory and it's worked out. For the most part. Arthur Morgan's lived in and around this town for twelve years now and knows everyone by name, which makes John Marston's sudden arrival stick out even without the gas station incident that triggers a series of encounters and challenges that start to connect these two. However, the troubles of the past finally start to surface in the present, creating a challenge of living two lives, one unseen by the other, and while there are secrets meant to be kept, there are some that lead to promises broken.
Maybe not everything is as simple and innocent as the town's name suggests.
