Summary
This started as a work very much inspired by some awesome stories and a couple amazing series:
Mind Your Ps and Qs by symbioticdeath,
Callahan's Crosstown Diner by cakeisnotpie (I really wish that it would be updated!)Somehow this mix of stories led to a one-shot that became a series of chapters circling around what would happen if Numb3rs Ian Edgerton came into the Brewpub for lunch and possibly hoping for a lead... This is something fluffy involving the clatter of a kitchen, good traffic flow in a restaurant, self-defense classes, and intimidating people being intimidating. This occurs in my Luxuries and Loss Universe; but, stands alone with a base of Leverage, mixed in with a little Numb3rs, a dash of Avengers, and a splash of Librarians (later chapters). I made a couple changes to chapter 3, it just makes more sense now.

His Tuesday night knitting circle is his time, therapy you could call it. A group of disparate people from different walks of life who come together to celebrate wins, solve problems, support each other through thick and thin.
Tonight, they celebrate the life of Jamie Dow.

Written for Helen Baker's writing prompt "one step at at a time;" and takes place before Rescue: Special Ops starts, and probably between seasons 1 & 2 of Leverage.

Summary
Luxuries and Loss is a series of interconnected short fics circling around Eliot Spencer. It is the luxury of making the time to sit down with the thick Sunday paper and reading about old friends, lost. The simple joy of early mornings, saving something, and dinner with old friends. It's a series of short fics revolving around Eliot which aren't chronological; but, starts with Boston and ends with the move to Portland.

Mike sighed. "I've just come from a very uncomfortable meeting at NAVCOM. It seems that some number crunchers have been crunching and the Hammersley has better health stats than any other ship in the Navy. By a mile."
"Isn't that a good thing, sir?" Kate asked.
"Specifically, our crew has significantly fewer sexually-transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancies," he said, like he couldn't even believe this was a thing. Kate stilled as she realized this wasn't about injuries; it was about sex. "If every other ship had the Hammersley's numbers, it'd save the Navy millions of dollars and thousands of man hours a year, so they want to know what's going on. Since the XO is in charge of personnel, I'm assigning you the task of writing the report."
