"Next time?" Xie Lian asked, confused.
"Well, it might take a few lessons," Hua Cheng pushed his door open a little wider and gestured inside, "Would you like to come in, gege?"

Xie Lian smiled politely, looking down at the computer screen in front of him. Before even glancing at the next customer, he began to say the practiced greeting. "Good morning. How can I help you today?"
Upon seeing the customer's face, Xie Lian's stomach sank. Because he didn't see a face at all. The person in front of him wore a dark hood, and their face was obscured by an eerie white smiling mask. It was obvious what was happening. A person would only walk into a bank dressed like that for one reason.
"I apologise for the disturbance," the stranger said, his voice surprisingly friendly and warm. "I need you to calmly collect as much money as you can and bring it to me without making a scene."

Xie Lian stumbled, taken off guard by such an accusation, "What?" He laughed, shaking his head, "Friend. He's my friend."
"Yeah, for now," Shi Qingxuan appeared oblivious to Xie Lian's shock, doubling down, "When are you going to ask him out, anyway? Or are you hoping he'll make the first move? Because I totally understand wanting him to ask you, but sometimes you just have to risk the rejection to get what you want."
"Qingxuan," Xie Lian said their name sternly, hoping to make them stop before they made this any more awkward than it already was, "I'm straight, okay?"

One of the BEST hualian fanfics I’ve read. It has me crying and kicking my feet at the same time, lol. Highly recommended <3
