“Izuku,” Hitoshi whines when it’s clear Shouto isn’t going to let go. The blocked airflow makes his voice tinny and higher-pitched. “Shouto’s being rude.”
“Hitoshi’s being an asshole,” Shouto counters, pouting.
Izuku lets out a long-suffering sigh. “Isn’t he always?”
“Ha!” Hitoshi says, raising a fist in victory. Then he pauses. “Wait, who were you responding to?”
Izuku laughs and shoves another bite of rice in his mouth.

Izuku scrambled to return to the present moment, furiously digging through his first aid kit. He just wished his hands were a little more steady - it would make this whole process a little easier. “It’s okay, really! I know you work really hard, and this is just part of the job… I’m happy to help.”
“Yeah, pretty sure the whole world knows that by now,” Hitoshi rolled his eyes fondly, halfway between a grimace and a smile when he finally got to his shirt and managed to peel it off without wincing too badly. “Still. Doesn’t mean I shouldn’t apologize for showing up at your door a day early looking like shit. Or for making you take a look at me like this. I could’ve gone to a doctor, but…”
Hitoshi shows up at Izuku's place looking worse for wear. Izuku, of course, is happy to help take care of him.

Summary
Izuku Midoriya just wanted to become a hero to help people. Even as he was diagnosed quirkless, he still wanted to become one, despite all the jeers and snarked remarks. Slowly, his spirit becomes crumpled, and given an opportunity at meeting his idol, All Might, he asks that one question on his mind. His dreams were crushed as he was left on that rooftop. Izuku realizes how cracked people's views are, given the example of All Might. So no, never again, he doesn't need the validation of people against him. He'll just become a hero out of spite and show them.
