Summary
It was snowing; it had been for the past week or so. The streets were filled with snow, and it did look quite festive, if not highly inconvenient. Everyone was trying to keep their spirits up though, which is how they all ended up in the kitchen to eat together – a rare-ish occurrence – and naturally, the subject of hospital visits was brought up. Competitions began on longest hospital stays, and Schmidt watched as Nick stared into his cereal in silence.
Or; The gang compare hospital stories on a snowy evening, but Nick is reluctant to share.

They along with the rest of the X-Men team up to defeat Apocalypse once again, but it came with a price due to Gambit pulling off another dramatic move, which left him broken both physically and mentally. This story takes place from the End of August 1997 to the end of February 1998

After being rescued from under Apocalypse's control and nursed by his fellow X-men to somewhat of a health, Remy finds himself on a journey of regaining his life. Struggling with ghosts of the past, he goes to New Orleans to finally face them and reclaim what once was taken from him - or what he gave out willingly.
Meeting friends and foes, Remy does everything he can to finally see the light behind his own eyes once again. He has to go through reunions, capture, facing his own nightmares regularly. Thankfully, he's not alone in this, even though Remy still struggles to believe someone might actually care for a broken reflection of a long gone person he sees himself as.

Canon divergence after episode 5 of X-Men 97Remy comes back on Genosha after his heroic sacrifice, but not quite the same as how he left. The X-Men will have to continue the fight against Bastion and Sinister, while at the same time unravel the mystery and traumas of their resident thief, hoping they can get him back to how he's supposed to be.
