Summary
Despite Quentin's best efforts to save her, Alice overwhelms herself and turns into a niffin trying to bring Charlie back. Eliot is there to comfort him. As Quentin throws himself into figuring out how to bring her back and cure his father's cancer, he comes across a spell to enhance co-operative magic but doesn't bother to read the fine print.

“Why’s it got to be Kady,” Quentin asks, “it could be Penny or Eliot.”
“Or you,” Margo adds.
“Yeah,” Penny sneers, “Sounded like volunteering.”
“Okay, Fine,” Quentin says with a put-upon sigh, “I’ll take white privilege.”

Summary
Penny intervenes and Quentin survives the seam. Eliot is brave and tells Quentin how he feels. Quentin is also brave and admits that he’s in the middle of a massive depressive spiral and he’s not in a good place to be in a relationship with anyone. He seeks help and ends up in creative arts therapy making quilts.
