The man’s head turned, and he grinned. “Ah, so you’re awake.” He stood from the desk and walked over, crouching down in front of Kazuha. “Now, I’m afraid I found you in quite the state so I have some questions, alright?”
Kazuha nodded. He liked questions.
“Good. First, can you tell me your name?”
Kazuha thought hard. He hoped his mouth would cooperate with him, so he tried. “‘Azu..a” was all he got.
The man smiled at him. “Kazuha?” he guessed, and Kazuha nodded. How did he know? “That’s right, I recall now. You’re Beidou’s little boy, aren’t you?” Kazuha nodded again, eyes sparkling. This man knew his Mama!
“There was quite the commotion at the docks today, wasn’t there? You must have gotten lost looking for her.” The man stood up straight then bent to lift Kazuha and his stuffed dragon off the ground. He put the boy on his feet for just a minute so he could put his coat back on before picking the little back up and situating him safely in his arms. “Well, let’s go find her, alright? My name is Zhongli, but you can just call me whatever’s easiest for you.”
