They had been classmates for years by this point but had never gotten to know one another, Zanka was rigid. never letting anyone get too close. Y/n was a lot more laid back dont get me wrong she still worked hard— as hard as Zanka some times— but she only cared about the difference between an A* and an A-. Whereas Zanka always had to be the top of the top. To her it was an unnecessary struggle, the hells guard only care about the grades anyway so why try so painstakingly hard? To sit on a chair and have everyone’s eyes on her? Yeah ABSOLUTELY not. No one Knew how hard he worked. Not a soul, except for her. Y/n was seen to some as this blunt, rude individual. But to those who looked a tad bit closer; she was honest, caring and extraordinarily observant. She could pick up on when someone was trying to hide a limp or wore heavy makeup to cover a bruise.
Or Zanka and y/n are both in the hells guard academy. Will they come for the others throat or will something begin to twine and sprout?

Denji tuts. “Stop thinking of Miss Makima, dude!”
Angel can only hope that since Denji is fine now, it won’t be long until Aki is too. He can’t bear to hear him be so enamoured by someone so cruel, someone who wants Angel dead if he didn’t yield something she needs.
He’s just about to walk away, to let Aki babble and recover far, far away from Angel’s presence, until another slurred sentence halts him in his tracks.
“Those wings… so soft… he’s…” Aki stops for a second, letting out a slow exhale before continuing, “he’s so … gorgeous.”
Angel freezes. Denji and Power suddenly don’t find the situation so funny anymore, instead they stare wide eyed at Angel. At his wings, his halo and very pink hair.
Denji lifts a shaky finger in his direction. “He’s … talking about Angel!?”
Or: When Aki and Angel suffer the consequences of multiple devil attacks, it seems like the universe is doing everything in it’s will to push them closer together.

The silence drags for so long that Megumi’s not sure if it’s seconds that have passed, or minutes, or hours.
“Does it help?” he finally asks.
Yuuji hesitates before answering; his gaze flicks to the jacket, dark with guilt, then back to Megumi’s face, searching for judgment and finding only quiet permission. He lets out a shaky exhale and gives a tiny, almost imperceptible nod. “Sometimes,” he whispers.
It’s the most honest thing he’s said all night.
