Summary
Neteyam's parents send him to spend summer break with his aunt in a tiny town called Port Angeles. He hates everything about it at first. The fog, the crushing cold. He wants to go home.
But then he meets Ao'nung. Ao'nung is describled as weird by his younger brother Rotxo. Standoffish, antisocial.
Neteyam figures Ao'nung doesn't like him very much.
But then he realizes, nothing could be further from the truth.If you're looking for a sweet and corny love story, with some drama sprinkled in, this might be for you.

Summary
Ao'nung and Lo'ak met far before Ao'nung met the one and only golden boy Neteyam Sully. Theyre on the same basketball team, upcoming seniors and theyve bonded in a violent and obnoxious way. They're friends. And Ao'nung likes to think that friends warn each other when the incoming older sibling is the definition of Husband Material so the first time they meet isnt with Ao'nung sweaty and messy from practice. Just a thought.

Ao'nung is desperately trying to get the beautiful bastard that is Neteyam Sully to notice him. But being Lo'aks first real friend from moving to Awa'Atlu means he just secured his place in the "adopted sibling" part of Neteyams mind. He's working on it, okay?

Summary
After Lo'ak safely returns from being left outside of the reef, Neteyam goes for a walk on the beach and has a conversation with Ao'nung that sets him on a different path, and though he doesn't know it, saves his life.
(Basically I'm exploring the question: What character development would have needed to happen in order for Neteyam to avoid his death in the movie?)

“Get your fucking hands off my brother,” he growls, pushing the boy back by his shoulders.
When the boy doesn’t back down he pulls a fist back, tension coiling in his muscles like a spring before snapping, sending his knuckles flying into his face again and again until only bloodied pulp remains.
Ao’nung is absolutely terrified. He’s also very, very turned on.
