Jon stopped in front of Damian, eyes shining now not just angry but devastated.“You don’t get to do this,” Jon said, voice shaking. “You don’t get to wear him and pretend—”
He struck.
The blow came too fast for the civilians to track but Damian was ready. He blocked, boots skidding back as the impact rattled his bones.“Jon, listen to me,” Damian said, bracing himself. “I am real.”
“Lies”
Damian ducked as Jon swung again, the air cracking where his fist passed, .“This ends now,” Jon growled. “I will not let you mock the dead.”
