Questions such as: what the fuck was Dabi thinking, taking Shouto out so late at night? But also: what the fuck is Dabi doing hanging out with Shouto at all? And: what the hell is Shouto doing hanging around the man who tried to murder his dad on national television?
And, most importantly: why does Dabi seem to care so much about Endeavour's son?

Summary
Brittle and battle-worn, Cas looks at him over coffee one morning and says, "I need to go," and Dean instantly knows that he's not coming back.
He's not really sure how he knows it, but he does. It settles into the pit of his stomach, curling hot and tight like something he instinctively wants to tear out with his bare hands. He takes a breath, and it gets stuck in his throat, hitching there. It hurts, hurts, hurts when he finally exhales.
"Yeah," Dean says, "of course you do," and he nods jerkily as he looks down at his phone. He doesn't say goodbye. He doesn't look up from the screen when Cas gets up and leaves the room. He doesn't finish his coffee, or move for a long time.
By nightfall, Cas is gone.

The seat squeaks, and Dean follows the sound, his gaze trailing down. There—where Jack sat moments ago—is a much tinier version of him. He looks mostly the same, just...smaller and more dimply and cuter, if that's possible. His clothes have shrunk to fit him, so he's casually sitting in a t-shirt, jeans, and scuffed tennis shoes. He swings his feet from side-to-side over the edge of Baby's seat the same way Sam used to in the back, and he stares up at Dean with clear eyes.
"Oh," Dean blurts out, eyes bulging, "Cas is going to fucking kill me."

“That’s it, love.”“You were dead,” Thomas speaks after a pregnant pause, his voice scratchy and raw from what he can only assume was his own screams.
It hurts.
“I had– I had pulled the trigger and it didn’t- it hadn’t missed, this time, Newt. It didn’t miss and you- fuck, ” He chokes out, a sob high up in his throat, the barbed wire digging further and further into his skin. The sobs come out harder, now, violent and unforgiving as they shake Thomas’ broad frame. And Newt— Newt can feel nothing else except for the anger making itself at home in his bones at the fact that Thomas, brave, and stupid, and so very beautiful Thomas was being terrorized by his own mind; its claws digging and forcing themselves into his head, and placing down roots unable to be weeded up.
OR
Thomas has nightmares. Newt helps. And then some.

She looked at the memorial stone one last time, memorizing the characters without even realizing she was doing it. It would serve from that moment on as a reminder of her determination. She wouldn’t let Naruto and Sasuke join the names carved on that stone.
