Summary
Qifrey was foolish to think that he could be rid of Olruggio. Like the stars whose lights travel across the vast oceans of the universe to decorate the night sky, they are too bright to dim. Too constant to ignore. Too beautiful to forget.
He's the star that the silverwood within him is forever searching for. The smile that he lets himself dream about. The name whose mere mention is enough to grasp his attention, so fully and involuntarily, like a starved man to promise of food.
It was inevitable that he should overhear; even when whispered in hushed, excited tones, huddled together. "Did you hear? Olruggio of the Torch is to be wed!"

Summary
There was a goose. A real, live goose. One with black feathers. All right. That was odd. Qifrey blinked. The bird didn’t move. Admittedly, this situation was quite unprecedented, but he wasn’t anything if not accommodating to guests in his home.
“Oh. Hello there.” He said kindly. Animals weren’t stupid, they knew when a person meant them no harm, and Qifrey was anything but a threat. He tilted his head then hummed, “How’d you get in here? I don’t mind the company for a little while since my usual late-night companion is off on a trip.” He motioned towards the magical device behind himself. “Tea?”
All of a sudden it was like a switch flipped. The goose totally freaked out. It honked wildly and charged Qifrey. He yelped in surprise and instinctively ran. Round and round the table he went, with the bird so hot on his heels, he swore he felt its beak barely scrape the back of his leg once or twice.
It took his brain a little bit longer than it probably should’ve to remember that he was a witch. There was no need for a chase! He reached into his robes and removed his palm quire of pre-drawn magic circles. He knew just the one that’d work right now, where was it – ah!

"It's his work!" Agott raised her voice, trying to shout over the excited chatter, in a tone that suggested this was an argument that had been going on for some time. "It's not the same! It doesn't mean anything at all!"
If only Olruggio could understand what they were talking about.
"You and Master Qifrey are really close," Coco said with a smile as Tetia left her to wander alone.
"Yeah..." Olruggio liked to believe that it was true. Just this tone...

“Why did you decide to become Master Qifrey’s Watchful Eye?” Richeh asked quietly, drawing everyone’s attention back to him. “Did he ask you to do this?”
