Ryland huffs out a laugh at that, bringing his hand down to rest on his knees to push himself back up to lean against the table, “ Well I can see that now ,but it's only for like special occasions or something right, kinda like our ceremonial uniforms back home, right ?”
A long silence followed.
“...No.”
“No?”
“No… All Rocky plural, wear clothes.”
The silence is so thick Ryland doesn't even think a knife could cut it.
He stares at Rocky, even though the alien doesn't have eyes. “ So you're a nudist…?”
OR
Rocky doesn't explain a very important cultural norm to Ryland.

He’s fine, he’s slept alone before, he can sleep alone again. He doesn’t need someone watching him, he’s not a baby, crying in the dark for a… what’s the word…. nightlight! Adults don’t babble for their parents after a nightmare. His skin doesn’t crawl, there’s no sense of impending doom, there’s no danger crawling up from the shadows, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with Rocky- he’s in the next room over, the same place he’s been for the last few days, working on his project alone, just like he wanted-
Grace is tired. He’s so, so tired.
Or: Grace and Rocky have an argument that results in them avoiding each other, which leads Grace to realise he's become more reliant on Eridian customs then he first thought.

"Oh, understand," Rocky says. There is a moment's pause, and then he asks, "Grace word mean movement smooth and beautiful. What mean ♬♪♩?"
I type the last word in as 'Ryland', against my better judgement (I'm not looking forward to getting disappointedly full-named by Rocky's sardonic computer dictation).
"It technically means 'land of rye', which is a kind of grass grain, but not all human names are actually words. Actually, now that I think about it, names like 'Grace' are a bit of an exception."
Rocky considers this, claws tapping together the way they do when he's calculating something. I have just finished sealing away the remnants of Taumoeba Batch #72 when Rocky speaks up again.
"What mean Rocky name, question?"
I freeze. Crud.

It's a long way to Erid. Rocky has some name-related revelations, and Grace is going through it. It's technically his fault, but he'll complain about it all the same.

In my thoughts, I recall that conversation about me being cute. Could I find Grace cute?
I focus on Grace for a split moment.

Then I went back towards my xenonite. Nah, full grown adult over there— despite being around 30 Earth years old, and if that were converted to Eridian math— that was very young. Pebbles could barely speak yet at that age. But this was an alien— a human we're talking about. Grown ass man.
Or so Rocky thought.
(5 times Rocky witnesses Grace acting like a pebble, and the 1 time Rocky acts like one himself. Featuring, a reunion between Rocky and Adrien!
