Summary
When Mecha Man Astral died, his legacy died with him, his murder never solved, his son left behind, and his Astral Pulse never seen again.
Fifteen years later, Robert Robertson III, working under the name Mecha, is still chasing down leads on his missing birthright. Leads that always end up turning up nothing. After his latest failure to locate the Astral Pulse, Shroud gives Robert a new mission: infiltrate the SDN as a dispatcher. A laughably simple job.
Well it would be, if he could keep his eyes off of Flambae for five fucking minutes.
The closer they're drawn to one another, the harder Robert's inevitable betrayal will be. For both of them.

“Nice back tat, Flambae.”
Robert accidentally clocks a tramp stamp that Flambae insists does not exist. The denial is so frantic that it turns mild curiosity into full-blown fixation.
What starts as an innocent desire to see the tattoo spirals into something messier. He isn’t looking for anything more than ink. He just keeps pulling at the thread.
Unfortunately for Flambae, that thread is tied to a past he worked very hard to bury.
And Robert doesn’t know when to quit. -

"Right. So I was wondering, if the best hero...could help me with something-" Blazer asks.
Instead of a super secret mission or something, he's supposed to give Robert dinner. A glorified fucking delivery boy. As if the grown ass man couldn't feed himself. He could eat twinkies for the rest of his life if he wanted, why was Flambae supposed to stop him from dying in his early fourties? He looks at Blazer. He blinks. Blinks again.
"I would go myself, but as you can see I've got paperwork to fill out." Flambae could see her face turning a light shade of pink. Ah- so that makes two.... What was it about that pathetic man that made women crazy about him?
Or
It starts with Flambae making food for Robert and ends with them being a little more.
So I've got a Beta reader for the first time!! starcrossedlions is helping me out with that!
