Summary
There is a cost to existing as an undead with a mind of his own; Occtis finds that his cost is a hunger for blood, one he tries to ignore until he has no other choice. In the Eternal Night, there are few living things to serve as prey, and the hunger does not subside just because he wants it to.
Enter Julien, who has little patience with Occtis' struggle over his newly monstrous hunger.
AKA the AU where Occtis is trying to do ethical vampirism and Julien is having none of it, because Occtis is starving himself and Julien has SO much blood.

Summary
The importance and danger that came with his role must have finally gotten to Wicander, making him lose his mind a little. There was no other explanation for why he would be barging into Teor's room at the crack of dawn, saying something about Tacchonis and death and future that is the past.
He made no sense at all.
