Summary
The call comes in at 2:57 AM, the little town mostly asleep as Itadori Jin reports his son missing, gone through an open window, propped open almost innocently. It's a mess of officers rushing to the scene, dispatch trying to get information out of a blubbering father overwhelmed with fear for his eleven-year-old son.
The call to Deputy Sukuna goes out at 3:05 in the morning, letting him know his nephew has been declared missing. The town is waking, and everyone is feeling the panic.
But not one Deputy Sukuna, who is about to get away with the perfect crime—the kidnapping of Itadori Yuuji, and everything is going as planned.

“Why did you take me in?” He asks at last, looking down at his own food. “It’s clear you didn’t like my father or my grandfather, so it’s not because of them. You didn’t need to do it, you could have let me believe I had no family.”
Sukuna hums, studying him again. He has a way of looking at people that makes Yuuji tremble, like a god deciding whether or not to punish a mortal. And yet, as Yuuji stares back at him, it’s not fear he feels – it’s anticipation.
“You’re right, I could,” Sukuna answers at last. “But I wanted to know you, Yuuji. I wanted to know what kind of person you are.”
