Summary
Frye and Shiver thought they cleared Off The Hook permanently from the Splatlands after Suffer No Fools - until Pearl and Marina had the audacity to shoot a music video in the middle of Scorch Gorge after it was pulled from the regular battle rotation. Instead of sending warning to the rival pop group that it was removed due to a Big Run alert, Frye and Shiver go to deal with the intrusion themselves.
When the salmonids abruptly invade far ahead of schedule, Frye and Pearl become separated from Shiver and Marina. Lost and being actively hunted by the largest salmonid they'd ever encountered, the makeshift duos will need to put their differences aside if they want to make it back alive.

Summary
When your greatest weapon is also what your entire career relies on, most would use it sparingly, delicately, and only in grave emergencies. In fairness to Pearl, these rules shouldn't apply in virtual reality (seriously, she was a drone for the second wail) - but they did, and now there is a price to pay for booyahing the wall out of the Spire's top floor. Now Off The Hook has to figure out how to perform eight shows in Inkopolis when their M.C. can't talk, let alone sing. Pearl has to reconsider who she is without her most defining asset, and Marina has to realize how much she relies on her partner's voice.

Summary
In the early beginnings of Deep Cut, Shiver reaches out to Marina of the pop sensation duo Off The Hook in hopes of an endorsement and possible segment on the Inkopolis News. Eager to help out small artists, Marina agrees. Just before the trio makes the long trek to Inkopolis to visit the band, Shiver discovers a secret. Their best friend and partner in crime, Frye, had dated half of the duo in college.
Shiver determines to unwravel the long history between their friend and the idol before they can meet.Simultaneously, Frye has just finished her senior year of highschool. She's been accepted for an internship in the big city of Inkopolis over the summer, and she's eager to get away from her small town, her overbearing parents, and her distant friendship with her once close friend Shiver, and she's ready to live a little.
