Summary
Darkness was surrounding her. Naruto lifted her head and tried to look around, she groaned and let her head fall forward. She wiggled her arms and legs, but they felt so heavy with the thick chains attached to her wrists and ankles, and she didn’t have the energy to continue her movements. Naruto lifted her head once more, “is someone there?” she called out into the darkness and after a minute of no responses she tried again a little louder, “please! Is anyone there?” A few tears started to fall from her eyes, but then something caught her eye. ‘Movement?’ Naruto thought. “Well seems like someone has finally woken up!” a sardonic voice stated paired with a dry chuckle. ‘That voice seems familiar…’

Summary
It was probably a good thing that no one assumed that Mel and Frank could possibly be dating. They had agreed to keep it a secret, after all.
But, come on. Not one rumor? Really?
It was starting to piss Frank off.

Summary
Mel King was a creature of habit.
There was a specific sort of choreography to her life beyond the chaos of the Emergency Department. A carefully controlled routine, a color-coded calendar, a rigid set of rituals that kept her grounded enough to keep showing up day after day, to keep on doing the work that was required of her to save lives.
Everything was going fine for Mel. Her personal life was predictable, unexciting, and perfectly fulfilling, thank you very much.
Enter Frank Langdon, agent of chaos.

Summary
Frank Langdon is trying very hard to rebuild his life.
Mel King is beginning to realize she’s never really had one outside of work and caregiving.
Somewhere between trauma bays, late-night drives home, custody schedules, a marriage falling apart, recovery, untouched cups of tea, and the quiet devastation of wanting something you think you shouldn’t, they become important to each other before either of them knows what to do about it.
He doesn’t expect Dr Mel King to become the one steady thing in the middle of all the chaos.
She doesn’t expect Dr Frank Langdon to be the one to help her start living.
Slowest of slow burns. Set post-Season 2.

Summary
“You should get back home to your wife,” she says carefully, slowly, like it’s a reprimand she doesn’t trust him to register as one unless she draws attention to it.
He pretends he didn’t hear her.
It’s only later, at the bus stop, that a firm sense of certainty washes over Frank for the first time in a very long time. He’d gotten it all wrong. Mel clearly has someone else to preoccupy herself with. It was embarrassing, really, to assume she would want a fuck up like him. At that moment, like the punctuation to some cosmic joke, the wedding ring he’s been fingering absentmindedly slips off his finger and skitters around in a circle between his feet. He crouches down to pick it back up as the last bus home flies past. He half wishes it had hit him; it probably would have hurt less than the realisation that he has feelings for Mel King, and she doesn’t feel the same way.
OR
Frank wants Mel so badly he's willing to fuck up his whole life to have whatever crumbs of her he can scrape together. The question is: how many people is he going to hurt on his way to her, and will he stop before she becomes one of them?

Summary
Rumor has it that a night shift attending and a day shift resident are engaged. Frank's mind quickly jumps to the conclusion that said rumor is about Mel and John — the problem isn't that she's his friend and didn't tell him, but that he has fallen for her and feels that he has lost his chance, even if he had already lost hope.
