Summary
Saliva has made his lower chin a wet mess, and his lips are such a pretty pink just from holding Dick throughout the course of dinner. Those pretty green eyes of his are being eclipsed by deep pools of black, and made even more vibrant by how wet they are. Dick wipes away a tear that slips down his little bat’s cheek, studying the hazy look of pleasure he wears.
His jaw must be aching, but he hasn’t even made the littlest sound of protest. Not that Dick thought he would, Damian loved being on his knees for Dick. Begged for it, even.

Dick and Damian have a sweet and dirty night in, and work is only a momentary distraction that’s taken care of with a heaping spoonful of spice—the fun voyeuristic kind.

Summary
“Your butchery of the English language astounds me.” Damian says, sliding into the seat.
“Second language.” Dick replies. “Can’t be blamed for my mistakes.”
Damian sniffs pretentiously as Dick starts up the car and gets them on the road, the reprimand already on his tongue. “Don’t be foolish, Richard, you have mastered a number of languages and are perfectly capable of speaking them as they were intended to be spoken, as I do. Making excuses as such is undignified.”
Dick hums, amused. “I think there was actually a compliment in there. You’re getting soft, baby bat.”
Damian’s scandalized face is exactly as Dick pictured it. “I am not!”
…Bruce died. Bruce came back to life. The months between those moments don’t stop meaning something even if it would be easier if they did.
It’s up to Dick to reassemble his life and find a way to be a brother to the boy he considers his kid. It shouldn’t be a problem (except that it is) and where the hell is his sweater??

Damian looks into his eyes, flickering with familiar fires and reaches out with his own hand, knowing he could never, ever regret this. Not if it would make him happy. Nothing else mattered as long as it made him happy.
He can’t be happy with Damian standing in the way.

Written for Day 9’s prompt of “Mommy” for the Dick is a Mother Day event on Tumblr. I was a litttttle loose in my interpretation of exactly what that meant, so it's been repurposed as "mom".

Summary
Instead he lets Richard tug him forward, listening as his brother gushes about the pretty flowers and this butterfly or that hummingbird. Damian admires all of it, imagines how he might put the images in front of him onto a canvas or maybe even whatever new medium of the month he’s experimenting with—pottery currently, to his family’s bemusement—but mostly, his attention is on Richard. The excitement in his voice, the joy in his smile, the light in his eyes.
Damian never quite experiences a peace similar to the one he feels with Richard. It calms his centre and stills his mind. It eases the strain of the day to day, their night to night. It lets Damian feel younger than he is, allows Damian to hold Richard’s hand and quietly share information he’s read about this plant or that butterfly while Richard listens attentively, asking questions and sharing little facts of his own.
He blames that very feeling of safety for bringing down his guard and making him miss the smell of ignition in the air, the danger right in front of them before it’s already too late and the screaming begins.

Damian can never have a simple day out with Richard, because unfortunately, they live in Gotham.
