While Taehyung can’t quite argue with his parents that he’d prefer to have another second in command, he’s let Jeongguk know enough times that he doesn’t react now.
“It is important to me. Which is why I think going with you is a good idea. If we are going to work together, we should probably get along.”
Taehyung can’t help but laugh, even if Jeongguk is right. He tries not to think about it too much, always pushing it off to deal with later but he can’t deny that it will be hard to work with Jeongguk when they both hate each other so much. “It’s a little too late for that, Jeongguk.”
Jeongguk lowers his back against the water, looking up at the sky above. “Probably. I can’t quite say I will enjoy being by your side as your second hand, but it is my duty.”

Summary
“Before Soojin passed, she gave me a name. Well, I’m pretty sure it’s a name. An unfamiliar one.”
He’s played it over in his head again and again so he wouldn’t forget it. It isn’t familiar to him, not a name that’s ever belonged to his pack. It must mean something, though. It was the last thing she said before she died.
“Kim Taehyung.”
Alpha looks more upset now than he did when he first approached Jeongguk in the clearing. “He is the one that kept her away from us. He is human, Jeongguk, the boy should not be left with him.”
It comes out like a command, the words spat out. They linger in the air until Alpha’s eyes are on him expectantly.
Jeongguk nods, a slight jerk of his head to acknowledge the statement. He sinks back when Alpha accepts it and extracts the boy from his chest to wake him further.
Regardless of what Alpha wants, he knows Soojin gave him that name for a reason, used the last of her breath to do so.
Jeongguk is going to find Kim Taehyung.

“And what reason would you have to distrust me then?” Taehyung asks, head tilting to the side as he nears Jungkook. Jungkook immediately thinks of how Taehyung had felt pressed against him, and he wonders if Taehyung will keep coming closer until he is again. “My family favors you. Even if I wanted to get you in trouble, which I do not, they would know I was lying. The only reason I would turn against you is if you turn against them. You are the one with a brain full of secrets, Commander.”
“And you are the one with the power of manipulation."
Taehyung furrows his brows. It isn’t anger or amusement on his face. “Excuse me?”
“Your magic makes you alluring, Your Highness, and you use that to your favor.”
There is a twitch in Taehyung’s lips. “My magic makes me alluring.” He repeats it as if he is confused, but his tone is loud with humor. “I have been called that many times, Commander, but most people don’t use my magic as an excuse for thinking so.”

Summary
