    Then, so faint that all three of them had to lean in just to catch it. "...I need him.”

    Yuna's hand found David's. "Who, sweetheart? Who do you need?"

    Then like an anomaly in one of his datasets, a green OPEN tag appears next to one of the restaurants. Shane squints his eyes, having difficulty seeing properly without his glasses.

    Shane doesn't bother reading them. He taps on the website and waits for it to load. Only to be met with error.

    Sighing he exits the page and keeps on scrolling. Nothing that is open catches his interest and the rest are closed. He's wondering how stale celery would taste dipped in pickle juice when his eyes land on Irina's Kitchen once more.

    There's a phone number under the address. Shane bites his lower lip and wonders if he should call.

    A woman with an accented voice picks up after the 5th ring.

    “Hello?”

    “Uh, hey, are you guys still open?”

Ilya stays in Ottawa and watches over Yuan and David Hollander, grieving their only son, and each in their own, do not survive it. Hayden searches for answers in the wreckage of his best friend's disappearance, turning over events in memory, unable to shake the feeling Shane told him something before he vanished.
    When Shane finally reappears, enduring the unthinkable, broken and barely recognizable, what comes next is harder than anyone anticipated.
