Summary
Agostino is an exiled prince in hiding, caught in the political machinations of a land hungry uncle and a brother accused of of their father’s murder. When he is taken captive by an Uthroon war lord, his sense of himself will be stretched to its limits.
****
When he reached Kadri, Agostino dropped down and kneeled in the dirt at his feet, head bowed. His captor stiffened and some of the soldiers in his regiment made noises of disapproval. They would most likely openly hate him from now on, already having expressed suspicion of his knowledge of foreign languages and culture. To hell with them anyway. The man reached down, tilting Agostino’s head up until their eyes met. Kadri’s were the dark golden color of honey. “You’re a child.”
“I’m twenty-six.”
“Hmm. Then you are just soft. You kneel at my feet like a war slave.”
“Oh. Yes. Am I not?”

Summary
High Mage Florian De Courcy is not suited to running, either by constitution or by character.
When the tide of battle turns against the prince he serves, he is nevertheless forced to run, with his enemies close at his heels.
It ends just as badly as he had expected it would. Perhaps even worse, once he discovers that the man who leads the band of soldiers sent to hunt him down is someone he has known almost all his life, and hated just as long.
(Slow burn m/m set in a fantasy world which is loosely based on a mixture of the Roman Empire and 19th century England.)
