His voice carried but it found no foothold in the chaos, Sera went to speak and Alastor’s eye twitched, slamming his staff onto the ground and a screeching static tore through the chamber, everyone cutting off their speech in favor of covering their ears.
“There we are!” Alastor said chipperly. “Everyone paying attention?”
“Alastor-“ Sera began, multiple eyes opening over her body.
“Uhp uhp uhp!” he held up a finger, wagging it. “I had an assignment, and a report, didn’t I? Or is that yet another thing you want silenced for the council? Hm?”
“Alastor…?” Charlie wiped her eyes, confusion winning out over her shock. “What are you…report?”
“Tch, fine, proceed."

If there was one thing most people could agree on, it's that CEOs were evil. And CEO's of major corporations? They're the closest thing the world's ever going to get to absolute evil. Even the most humane of them have a list of deceased in their names that exceed most war memorials, and the most depraved of them lost track after they entered the tens of millions. If there's one thing you can rely on a corporation head to be, it's cunning, ruthless, and depraved beyond belief.
Ichiban Kasuga was (reportedly) none of these things. Ichiban Kasuga, from what the few people that have been able to prove their interactions with him have to say, have all claimed that he's a mildly dimwitted man prone to acts of obscene charity, that is always willing to drop whatever he's doing to help a complete stranger out.
Not even the most gullible person on the planet would believe such an obvious fantasy.
