Summary
Edmund Reid's imagination is ignited by sensual magazines and he is unnerved when Homer Jackson makes an appearance in his fantasies. He feels terrible the following day, but must work with a sassy Jackson and a stoic Drake to solve the case of a kidnapped child. The case leads them to new areas of London and the savage criminals who inhabit them. Inspector Reid must also deal with his declining health and a growing affection for Homer Jackson.
