He sat up straight and looked into the mirror. Hazel met hazel. “Itadori Yuji,” he muttered through his teeth. “I am 20 years old. I am a communications major at the University of Tokyo. I moved here three years ago on an athletic scholarship from Sendai. That’s where my grandpa still lives.
Nothing strange or terrifying has happened to me in my entire life.”

"Megumi Fushiguro didn’t believe in superstitions.
In some ways, he never got the chance to believe in any. Superstitions didn’t stand a chance in a world where sorcery existed. He’d seen people make fire out of their bare hands. He’d seen them level buildings with a flick of their hand. He’d seen his own shadows creep out of his palms, warping his world in darkness.
All his life, he’d held the belief that superstitions didn’t exist. But as life always does, all it took was one moment for hard held ideas to falter."

Summary
The man that comes bursting through the doors looks like if someone took all of Megumi's vaguest fantasies, put them in an oven, and baked them until done. He's tall, broad, buff but not too buff, and to top it all off he's got wide brown baby-cow eyes and a head of fluffy pink hair. Boyish. Cute. He is also, noticeably, bleeding from a nasty-looking cut right beneath his eye.
Pink Hair looks around wildly for a moment before locking eyes with Megumi and making a beeline for him. Megumi raises a brow as he heaves a cat carrier onto the counter, bracing both of his hands on top of it like he's trying to stop it from jumping off.
"Hi," Pink Hair pants, as the carrier gives a sudden rattle and lets out an ear-splitting shriek. Megumi takes a step back. "Do you guys take demon cats?"

"Thousand yen says you can't make that jump," Megumi says, peering up at the fourth floor window.
Yuuji splutters. "Hey, I could totally make that! I could make the roof if I wanted!"
"You're old," Megumi says. "You have knee pain."
"You're old," Yuuji mutters darkly, but when Megumi wordlessly holds out his hand, Yuuji takes it without even having to look.
(Or: for their last mission before retirement, Yuuji and Megumi return to a Sendai high school.)
