Summary
“You’re not old, Dr Robby,” Dennis whispered. Their eyes met and Dr Robby smiled a little self-deprecatingly.
“I’m twice your age, Whitaker. I’m an old man. That shirt you're wearing? Probably bought it before you were born,” Dr Robby murmured, his eyes crinkling in that attractive way that always made Dennis’ heart race.
This close, Dennis could see all the aging marks on Dr Robby’s face. The gray in his beard, the deep lines around his eyes and above his brows, the thinning of the hair atop his head, the slight sagging around his cheekbones.
Old-man glasses slid slightly down his nose as the older man smiled.
Dennis had to have some daddy-issues, because he swore there wasn’t a man more attractive than Dr Robby in that exact moment.
“God, that’s so hot,” Dennis whispered without thinking, the words Dr Robby said bouncing around his liquid brain. Only when he saw Dr Robby’s eyes widen in surprise, his hand freezing on top of his shoulder, did Dennis realise what he said out loud.

Summary
A few feet away, near the edge of the pond, under a tall tree, sat a young man completely absorbed by his book. The man was wearing a baggy green shirt and light-wash jeans. He had his legs criss-cross applesauce, and his nose was buried between the pages of his book.
Even so, Robby could see enough of the side of his face to make his heart thud exceptionally loud in his chest. It didn’t make sense. How could he be here?

“Fuck, you’re so hot, old man,” Dennis moaned, letting those greedy fingers bury themselves into Robby’s chest hair.
Robby grinned, pleased, before taking the initiative to pull off Dennis’ red flannel and sweaty white tank. It left them both naked from the waist up, with only their respective jewelry hanging from their necks.
“You Jewish?” Dennis asked, one finger tapping against the Magen David, making it press firmly into Robby’s skin like a brand.
“That a problem, kid?”
“Jeeze, ‘course not. Just curious,” Dennis scoffed, before he used warm hands to cup Robby’s cheeks to pull him into another heated kiss.
Or; what if Robby went on a sabbatical after Dr Adamson died, and he found himself in Broken Bow years before Dennis Whitaker ever came to PTMC?

“Did you really make the food yourself?” Dr Robby asked softly as he folded his arms across his chest.
Dennis nodded dumbly.
“You’re a great cook, kid. Thanks for sharing. It got me through this fucking awful shift.” The older man nodded in thanks, smiled ever so slightly, and then turned around and walked away.
Or; Dennis brings Dr Robby lunch to work one day. The older man is very appreciative. An agreement is made. Who needs boundaries with their boss, anyway?

Either way, the kid was sitting on the bench, with their knees raised up and their arms wrapped around their legs. They were wearing a light gray jacket much too thin for the weather, and a weathered backpack snuggly pressed against their side.
Robby tilted his head as he took a tiny step closer. The kid had their eyes closed and was possibly dosing off. Irresponsible, a deep voice sounding like his dead father whispered in Robby’s mind, they shouldn’t be out here where anything could happen.
