She’d done all of the things she was supposed to (both the serious and the stereotypical): Study hard, get an education, go to Oxbridge and start a career in a magic circle law firm; get stoned in a field at Glastonbury, steal pick ’n’ mix from Woolworths, and spend Friday evenings in the pub after work. She was the poster girl for immigrant children, held high on a pedestal for all to see: “This,” they’d say. “This is why we do it. So that our children and our children’s children can have a better life.”
And, for a while, she did.
But then the Referrendum happened and changed everything...
Wanda Maximoff has it all: A high-flying career, a man who absolutely adores her, and a general sense of happiness that once seemed unattainable to a ten-year-old orphaned refugee.
When Vision asks her a question (*the* question), it feels like the fragmented pieces of a turbulent life have finally fallen into place. However, as she prepares to accompany him to a wedding at the lavish country estate belonging to his childhood best friend, Wanda finds herself carefully considering her place not only in Vision's world, but in the only home she's ever truly known.

They have scattered bundles of days together. Never more than a week, sometimes as little as two hours. Sometimes they just chat, other times they spend whole days around each other. Affection is easy - for Wanda affection has always been easy with those she trusts, it is just that for almost twenty years the only person she truly trusted was her brother. But she trusts Vision, knows she is safe around him, so he gets affection too, and he seems to return it in equal measure, no more or less than what she offers him.
