    Both the tales of MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica are stories about wanting to become human. Over the course of the series, the characters humanize and dehumanize one another in their attempts to feel human. The members of MyGO!!!!! find solace and happiness in each other, fighting to become human regardless of how lost they come to feel. The members of Ave Mujica, on the other hand, distance themselves from their humanity so that they are the ones choosing their dehumanization rather than leaving it in the hands of others. Despite their opposite approaches, the bands follow the same steps to reach their humanity or lack thereof: the unmasking of their true selves, the recognition of their flaws, and the acceptance of each other and themselves as human or the exact opposite.

    Sachiko Setouchi always dreamed of becoming an idol and bringing smiles to people the world over. She was forced instead to settle for a life on the sidelines, and she was content to see the birth of an all-new idol band by industry giant Nebula Records... Until the lead singer for the band walks out. Sachiko is shoved into the limelight as the replacement vocalist, becoming the front woman for the freshly formed band Diamond Light. Sachiko is determined to make her dream a reality, and to do it, she rallies together her unlikely company of new friends: rebellious and wild lead guitarist Aika, composed and kind bassist Mirina, quiet and sweet keyboardist Ryoka, headstrong and excitable drummer Yoko, and straight-laced and hard-working rhythm guitarist Kira. Sachiko adjusts to her new life of fame alongside the other members of her group, but forming a band is not as simple as she thought. The pressures of the idol industry are great, and they press in on Diamond Light from all sides.
