“I mean it,” the red paladin mutters. He smacks something off his cheek—a mosquito, by the looks of it—before turning his scowl back on Lance. His hair’s much…poofier than usual. His skin is tainted ever so slightly red. Salt and sun, Lance’s mind supplies. Lucky bastard. “You got mine, I got yours. They messed it up.”

When Lance is stationed on a frozen planet alone over Christmas, he finds solace in Keith, stationed on his own mission in tropical paradise. So begins an exchange of everything they miss about warm and cold Christmas.

Summary
Keith sat up when he heard the crying.
“Is that…?” Lance trailed off, hopping up and running to where Allura had been standing at the controls.
The cries intensified, a cacophony of shrieks clamoring in Keith’s ears, as Keith pushed himself up.
There, in a pile of familiar black clothing, was a very, very upset baby.
Keith picked up the screaming child, holding it at arm’s length, studying the head of black hair with the shock of white at the front.
“Lance…”
“Oh my god, they’re babies,” Lance whispered.
Keith looked up to see Lance rocking two more babies in his arms, one with silver hair and the other sporting an orange tuft at the crown of its head. At his feet where two toddlers, one with an orange headband and the other with reddish brown hair that stuck up in haphazard directions.
“Quiznak,” Keith said.
The baby Shiro in his arms cried harder.

“Great catch you got there.”
Lance pushed back the shock that Keith Kogane was actually talking to him and managed a scowl.
“Strangely enough, he didn’t mention being an absolute ass in his profile.”
He got a chuckle from that and couldn’t help a pleased warmth from rising in his chest. Dropping his chin in his hand, he watched as Keith finished bussing the table.
Keith was still wearing those stupid fingerless leather gloves that all the girls fawned over, but traded in his typical black sweatpants and hoodie for an equally black pair of jeans and matching T-shirt.
He looked unfairly attractive, as usual.
Lance blinked, pushing that intrusive thought away and instead focusing on another.
“Keith,” he leaned forward, clasping his hands together. “You gotta help me, my man.”

An annoyed sigh had Lance grinning.
“Jesus fucking Christ,” the man cursed, voice low enough that only Lance could hear him because of the soft murmuring and shuffling of the other customers in the shop. He rolled his eyes as he stalked up to the counter. “It’s Keith. Like I’ve told you a thousand fucking times.”
Lance pushed the cup—black coffee, gross—toward him and smiled brightly, “Have a great day, Kevin!”
