Zelda nodded along with Link’s words. “You’re right. We’ll need to secure the champions and their Divine Beasts. But the guardians… they will need to be dismantled. They hold a greater threat than the beasts. And… there’s the matter of getting my past self to unlock her sacred power.”
“And you unlocked yours when…”
“When I acted in love for you,” she finished, meeting his gaze. “We need to get our past selves to realize their feelings.”
“You’re saying we need to play matchmaker.”
“Yes.”
“For our past selves.”
“Yes.”
He dragged a hand down his face. “We’re doomed.”

Or: Post-ToTK Link and Zelda, happily married, are investigating a series of disappearances when they’re suddenly sent to before the Calamity. They take it upon themselves to save everyone from impending doom, which includes helping their past selves get along. It’s a lot easier said than done. Oh, and more people are disappearing. The day before he fought Ganon the first time, he’d visited all the people he’d come to know and all the Champions waiting for release. He had thought it would be the last time he’d ever see them. He’d even made peace with it.
Now, that yesterday is nearing a month ago for Link, and he is so tired.
“I did,” he says. “I went. Fought Ganon.”
“— Did you have to retreat?”
“…Didn’t fight it today. Five days ago. And ten. But also today.”
Link defeats the Calamity. And then he faces it again and again and again and again—

Summary
Link’s life had been quiet since he defeated the Calamity. Of course, to Link, ‘quiet’ meant it was filled with the sounds of explosions as he launched himself across Hyrule. But after defeating the embodiment of evil with nothing but an axe and a pot lid, wearing only a pair of boxers, fuelled by the eternity of rage in his heart, Link felt he was justified.
He had died. It was only fair he got to live a little.
So when a portal opens under his feet and Link finds himself face to face with himself, he decides to have some fun with this.

Or, a speedrunning Link is dropped a hundred years in the past and causes unbridled chaos.
