Summary
Steve is an old dog but he has learned and is learning how much he enjoys getting back into a younger, puppier headspace thanks to his younger dom. These dogs have already had a rough patch but, hey, growing pains wouldn't be growing pains if they just happened once nor would a D/s relationship be a D/s relationship if there wasn't give and take. Steve is giving and taking and he's going to need to show his young dom that he, too, is giving and taking.

Summary
These times are odd times. Steve’s forgotten what it meant to have a circadian cycle; he’s overtaken the sun around the globe more than once in less than a week. He sleeps when he’s tired, and eats when he’s hungry. There are no more movies he needs to watch, no more books he needs to read, no more small talk, no more silent apartments, nothing beyond the endless string of missions and how he can fit his immediate needs in there. It’s like being back in the European theater, this mixture of constant strain and exhilarating freedom.

“If they like pain,” Bucky snaps, “then they’re not normal. Q.E.D.!” He gets really loud sometimes. “Besides, it’s not just pain. The details of what I need—you’d be horrified if I told you.”
“Yeah? I notice you haven’t tried telling me.” Sam can’t stand people making a big deal about how shocking their kinks are, and he can’t stand Bucky anyway. So it’s not the most palatable combination.

Despite appearances, I’d shelve this as a love story rather than a PWP. I don’t remember much else about it than that but I’ve bookmarked it so it must have been enjoyable!
