Arthur had a little bit of time to raise the near feral Atlantean child before he took on the kid as his trusty sidekick Aqualad.
They're not yet familiar with each other, not quite family, but Garth isn't blind to the support an ally provides, and Arthur isn't about to leave a child to fend for himself in the open ocean.
