Something unreadable is on Kakashi’s face, but he doesn’t seem impressed. “You two are eloping?”
“No,” Naruto says pointedly. His gaze drops to the floor. For once, he chooses his words carefully. “But if he can’t stay, then I’ll go with him.”
Kakashi’s voice is grave. “You’re the number one candidate for Hokage. You tirelessly ranted on and on about how this is your dream. Are you going to give up all that hard work?”
“It’ll just be a little while,” Naruto mutters, not quite believing himself.
“Surely you aren’t that naïve, Naruto,” Kakashi warns. “If you leave with Sasuke, I don’t think we’ll ever see you again.”
“I’m not being naïve,” Naruto says. “I would come back.”
Kakashi’s voice has dropped any pretence of humour. “I thought you hated people who lie to themselves the most.”
After their legendary battle and final fight in the Valley of the End, Naruto slowly heals in the hospital. Sasuke doesn’t.
Three years later, whilst on a diplomatic mission to the Hidden Grass Village, Naruto encounters a masked mercenary who takes him by storm.

It had started with a scam gone wrong.
Double D had been caught in the middle of it - of course - because somehow, these things were unequivocally his fault. He hadn’t been aware of it at first, not really. It was lunchtime and suddenly he’d been caught by Kevin; a strong hand gripping the front of his shirt and the other curled in a fist, threatening to hit him if he didn't explain himself right then and there
"Wait a moment - please!""Then tell me," Kevin gritted out, eyes burning with a fury promising a fate much worse than death, "Why the hell your stupid machine was punching holes in every single football our team has because I wouldn't cough up five dollars."
It starts when they are fourteen, after Edd is roped into helping out with a scam that goes wrong. It then follows Edd and Kevin in the years that lead on, showing the ways that their relationship grows and changes as times goes on.
This fic sorta goes for the vibe of dark comedy. It does have an eventual happy ending as well :)

Everything goes well until Cole rewinds the tape his grandfather used on his first date and Cole gets stuck in a time loop that has him experiencing the same day and date over and over again.

Jesse’s face dies in the middle of nervous laughter. Surely he didn’t just hear Hanzo right. He freezes right there, all color draining from his face, his breath strangling. His eyes widen when he is finally hit with realization of what those words actually mean. He is opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water. Hanzo would laugh at that if he wasn’t so nervous about the reveal he just made. He bites his lip nervously, watching Jesse, waiting for something to come out of him. He rubs his arm, his breathing is shallow. A long silence falls between them.
