Summary
After coming out to Rose, Shane decides he doesn't want to lie anymore, even if he isn't sure coming out will mean he gets happily ever after with Ilya. When coming out to the Voyageurs leaves him wondering what his future in Montreal might look like, he lets himself be a little selfish, he lets himself wonder if there might be somewhere else he might be happy. If Montreal wants to get rid of a generational player, he's not about to stop them, especially if it means he can get a little closer to joy.

“Hazing,” Shane mutters. “They’re hazing you?”
“Yes.” Rozanov pulls back. Shrugs his shoulders again. “Go back in your room, Shane Hollander.”
“And if I do,” Shane mutters, sliding his eyes sideways again. Siderov and Vasiliev look proud of themselves, basking in a kind of butter-wouldn’t-melt ease that only bullies ever truly know. Somewhere, their mothers are calling them princes. “Will that be, like, it? Or will they do something else?”
“Ah.” Rozanov rubs the side of his nose, sniffs. “Something else, probably. Or they will tell whole team you turned me down. No worries. Pretty omega turns me down, not end of the world. Guys on team will laugh. Also not end of the world.”
“That’s not…” Shane screws up his mouth, looks down at his shoes. He’s still massively keyed up, still just a little hard, and Rozanov is still very handsome. “That’s not…what’s happening.”Regina, Saskatchewan, 2008. Shane Hollander is newly an omega and nobody is happy about it. Ilya Rozanov makes it interesting.

“Shane,” Ilya said slowly, putting his phone in his pocket as he walked into their home gym to find Shane running on the treadmill. “Do you mean to tell me that the years of you doing ‘just a little promo’ has actually been you tormenting David Mitchell with your apparently not incredibly boring life? And you never thought to mention it once?”
“Huh?” Shane called, slowing the treadmill to a walk to glance over his shoulder at where Ilya was stood. “What do you mean?”
“I mean there are lots of tweets here about you on these shows and you seem to be giving all of them aneurysms?” Ilya said, pulling his phone back out and opening up twitter to show Shane.
