It was only as they began trying to walk again the Cal realised how unsteady his steps were as he stumbled forward. His brain felt fuzzy, but Merrin’s hand around his wrist helped to ground him. The dizziness was slowly easing as he made his way over, and Cal almost thought that he was in the clear.
He reached the bench, instinctually reaching out to grab the side to stabilise himself. It was only when the disorientation abruptly intensified, and he suddenly wasn’t sure of where he was that Cal realised his mistake.
“Kriff,” he swore. “Cere, I-”

It wasn’t the warmest of days, but it was sunny - the first day that felt like spring after a long and cold winter. It felt like something akin to hope, that something better was coming, and maybe that was why Laurens had been bold enough to accept Alex’s suggestion to come to the lake. Those days were the most dangerous, because in moments like this, with the sun shining down on the pair of them and the weight of Alex’s head on his chest, the risk of the gallows didn’t seem to matter.

//At first I planned on making these stories a part of my "Angsty Johnlock One Shot Collection" but then I decided to make this into it's own short story because I actually really like this headcanon and I wanted to write more about it.//
[THE THREE TIMES HE DIDN'T FAKE IT]
The first time Sherlock tried to end his life was when he was 19-years-old and felt so very alone.
The second time he was twenty-three and still hadn't found the meaning of his existence.
The third time he was twenty-six and he just wanted to feel something else than numbness.//So basically, these stories are my headcanons about Sherlock's suicide attempts A.K.A the three times he didn't fake it. There will also be a chapter about the Reichenbach Fall and how the people close to him felt when it happened and a chapter about him coming back + the aftermath of everything when he finally tells John that even though he faked the Fall, there were times when he didn't fake anything. Expect a lot of feels and fluff in the later chapters//
