Summary
After the Conquest of Hoshido ended in a tense peace after the death of King Garon of Nohr, many feel aimless and are still trying to figure out their role in these new times, such as the swordmaster Hinata, a retainer who failed his duty. After being approached by the newly crowned Queen Hinoka of Hoshido, Hinata finds himself given charge of the border realm Satsuma, which contains the unique quality of having a calm and large crossing between the two kingdoms of Nohr and Hoshido. Asked to bring order and prosperity to a ravaged land, he seeks to make up for his failure in protecting his lord in battle. He is not alone however, with a Nohrian contingent lead by the Nohrian princess Corrin looking to help bridge the gap between the nations and another more personal reason for the princess.

Summary
The forces of Nohr march to lay siege the wall of Susan-o, where lies the retainer Hinata, deep in thought about his own fate, and the fate of his lord. He is apparently destined to die at this wall, and before the storm hits, he thinks, very much unlike him, about his life, his lord, and his hope.
