Summary
Of all the things that Pen had wanted to achieve in Sandrock, getting trapped here for all eternity, was not high on his list. In fact, it hadn’t been on his list at all.
How had he found himself in this situation? Pen had no idea.

Summary
Dr. Charles Abbey isn’t depressed.
Depressed people don’t spend so much time and effort keeping up their appearance, that’s just a fact. He’s a doctor, he should know.
Besides, he isn’t sure if he will find love. It’s not that he doesn’t want it, he’s dreamt of it for most of his life, but the first pass went…really bad, so for now he believes it’s best if he just learns to live without it. He’d rather just keep up his put together and professional reputation for the sake of his community that relies on him.
Besides, he’ll know love if he sees it. He’s certain of that.

Shay Jennings isn’t lonely.
Lonely people don’t go out every weekend to party and flirt with the locals. That’s just logic.
She’s also not sure love is real. It might be, for some people, but so far any pursuit of love she has made has ended in her feeling foolish and used. She won’t let that happen again, and she won't waste anymore time. She would rather just enjoy her youth and have fun. No strings attached. No matter what.
Shouldn’t be too tough on an island with a weirdly high population of attractive young people.

The bond, Ben is convinced- or the Force, or the lingering remnants of Snoke’s power, or whatever keeps patching them through to each other at the worst possible moment- has a sorry sense of humor.
This, though- walking out of the fresher with a towel around his waist, wearing considerably less than the memorable moment when she had asked him if he had a cowl, or something, only to find her standing next to his bed- might be the worst joke the bond has played to date.
(Someone spikes Rey's drink, and the bond decides this is Ben's problem.)

Summary

The best thing Shane could hope for is that the new farmer stays far away from him. The best thing Cas could hope for is that leaving Joja to restore her grandfather's farm isn't as big of a mistake as it seems. The thing that these two people find in each other is a deep, resounding sense of understanding that they've never experienced before with anyone, and it's something they're going to have to confront no matter how much they're hoping to avoid it.
