Summary
After an insane run of bad press and fears of the hospital shutting down Richard Webber and the board have come up with a solution - they're going to start a Littles only scholarship program, the issue is they need caregivers who get them, and the various caregiver surgeons at the hospital are determind to keep it open.
Largely centered around chaos personified Alex Karev as the interns slowly go from a group of prickly regressor interns to family, learn how to be themselves, and maybe even that they are more than enough for this found family.

The breakup with Tommy had left him feeling hollowed out. Work had become his refuge. Long shifts. Extra training. Anything to keep from thinking too hard about what he'd lost.

"He is involved because he cares. And he is more than just Evan's boss. He is his friend, someone Evan knows he can go to, no matter what happens". Unlike you, Maddie left unsaid but everybody got the message.
"Isn't he the same captain he sued after his accident?” Phillip asked ironically.
"Bobby was trying to protect him. He and Evan talked things out and everything is okay now," answered Maddie.
"Protecting him, from what? Himself? Because that I can believe," he mocked.

Summary
Chimney isn't quite sure when it started.
Well. He knows it was after Buck and Eddie got back from Nashville, but that's a given.
It's been two weeks since they returned—give or take a day—and because of their injuries, they've both been benched with light duty. Eddie had grumbled and rolled his eyes at the decision, and while those reactions were usually annoying, Chimney had actually found his relieving. Especially when his counter part had nodded quietly and accepted his fate without complaint.
Hence now, why Chimney is watching his brother-in-law like a hawk from the loft, counting the seconds he's been stalled.
