    "I’m only two minutes late!” Izuku protested. Had he missed the start of an important test? None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.

    “Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”

    "I’m sorry. What?”

    Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

    Aizawa refuses to let his Problem Child travel back in time alone, even to fix a future where All for One was the victor. They go back with a plan that's more of a list, spend a year technically missing, and become rather effective vigilantes that fix some rather serious problems. And then it's time to be found, which seems to primarily result in lots of support and many hugs. Neither Izuku or Aizawa complain very much.

They point the way, but it is up to us to nurture and care for it. And if we do, something really beautiful could come out of it.”
    Izuku was still remembering these words when the shadow of the soulmark that Connected him to Shinsō appeared on his forearm. A signpost for them that they could become soulmates. He knew exactly why they could be Connected and he would do everything he could to make this relationship grow.

    But the point is that in any relationship between two people, it is not enough that only one of the parties is willing to work on it.
