Kai stared at his skin, unable to look away at the scars on his arm.
The feeling of transforming into a dragon during the battle with Beatrix was stuck in his mind, torturing him on a level he himself couldn't really understand.
What if he lost a part of himself?
What if he wasn't human?
What if something disgusting was threatening to break out from beneath his skin barrier the moment he dared look away?---
Following after Dragons Rising Season 4 part 1, this one shot explores the idea of Kai fearing any sort of transformation into something monstrous.

Kai gets sick.
By all means, it shouldn't have caused as much trouble as it had, but the land of monsters had a way of leaving it's nasty claws on it's victims.
So now that his family is catching on and emotions are running high, the fire wielder has to reflect and mentally process everything that had happened to him.
Fuck Nya for pressing the matter!
----aka, Kai gets sick, Nya worries herself sick, Lloyd thinks the future is making him sick, Zane is trying to heal the sick, the kids are confused by the sick and suddenly, it turns out, it's the world that's really sick.
